Code Geass was first released back in 2006. In 2008, season 2 was released. In 2019, we got the anime movie – it happens in the same timeline, but it does not follow the same action. Right now, Code Geass: Z of the Recapture is in production.
Fans all over the world are thinking about what the next season may bring. Code Geass is a Japanese anime television series made by Ichiro Okouchi and Goro Taniguchi, and produced by Sunrise. As of now, it has two great seasons, and we keep asking ourselves whether there will be a third.
Back in February 2019, Sunrise Studios released Code Geass, and it was a hit. It sold more than 1 million DVDs and Blu-ray discs. The two seasons also got plenty of awards at the Tokyo International Anime Fair.
But we want to know now: when will a season 3 happen?
With 25 episodes per season, we got a lot of great storylines. We have heard that the third season is in development. The release date will probably be in 2022 or 2023.
What about the cast?
As of now, we don’t have any info on the cast, but there will probably be little to no changes.
What would the plot be?
We don’t have the plot yet, but we do know that the end of season 2 left us wanting more. We will probably get the same fictional reality. Lelouch VI Britannia is an exiled kind who wants to ensure his sister’s (Nunnally Vi Britannia) happiness and peace. Their mom was brutally murdered – remember Emperor Charles Zi Britannia? Nunnally got traumatized, and Lelouch is not happy with his father and his behavior after their mother got murdered. He decides it’s time he gets revenge. Eventually, Lelouch uses his Power of Kings to find the murderers and get revenge.
We are bound to learn soon about the action in the next season.
